Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC)

Members of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) are appointed by City Council. BPAC members initially serve one-, two-, and three-year terms and may be reappointed for three-year terms thereafter.
Interested in Becoming a BPAC Member?
When a vacancy occurs, the City’s Advisory Committee on Appointments will make recommendations to the City Council for placement using the applications in the Resource Bank.
Meetings
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee holds regular meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm at City Hall and may hold special meetings at the call of the Chair or at the request of City Council.
Duties
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee shall be accountable to City Council. The committee shall provide advice to City Council that reflects community values on bicycle and pedestrian practices relative to the City. Committee Code of Conduct.pdf

The first Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan was adopted by the City of Eau Claire in 2010 and was one of the recommendations of the 2005 Comprehensive Plan. The current City of Eau Claire Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan was updated and adopted in December 2018. The City also partners with other agencies and stakeholders, such as the West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (WCWRPC) and Chippewa-Eau Claire Metropolitan Planning Organization on implementation of plans and resources.

Licenses
This process is for art projects applied to City streets only. Please contact Community Services for art projects on other public/City property at communityservices@eauclairewi.gov or (715) 839-5039.
Residents, artists, businesses, and community organizations can apply to create a Public Street Art project on a local street in Eau Claire. Communities around the world have used street art as a way to bring neighbors together and enhance the appearance of their neighborhood. The City encourages creativity within the guidelines below to help ensure public safety. Review the Information and Application Packet below and submit your application and design today!
Completed applications will be submitted to Engineering for review. If the project meets the guidelines, Engineering will present the application and design for City Council approval. Please anticipate up to six weeks for potential approval of your application and design.
