The Eau Claire Baseball History Committee, an informal group of baseball enthusiasts, organized in 2003 to save historical local baseball memorabilia, has developed a plan to recognize contributors to the city’s rich baseball tradition.
- Additions are made to the plaza around the Hank Aaron statue, at the Carson Park Baseball Stadium, to recognize three groups of people in a “Hall of Fame” manner.
- The first group in the Hall of Fame are, “Individuals or groups of people who made significant contributions to Eau Claire baseball.”
- The second group of people are “Individuals who played on Eau Claire teams, as regular season roster players, and made it to a Major League Baseball roster as a player or bench coach.”
- The third group to be recognized is Eau Claire natives who played for minor league pro baseball teams.

For a donation of $300 the city will plant a tree in memory of, honor of, or to celebrate a moment in life. The donor(s) will be notified prior to the planting. A certificate will be given to the donor(s) recognizing their donation and their honoree.
In order to achieve the best survival rate and establishment, legacy trees to be planted in city cemeteries and parks must meet specifications and recommendations set forth by the Forestry Division of the Community Services Department.
- The Forestry Division will aid in the selection of species and planting location. After species and location is determined, a form will be issued to donors to complete and submit with payment.
- Legacy planting will meet the specifications of a grade 1 shade tree and be 2" caliber, balled and burlapped stock. The tree will be planted in either spring or fall, depending on species.
- Plaques, markers or tags will not be placed at the tree but location maps and photos can be provided as the city computerized tree inventory program is developed. A certificate suitable for framing will be included.
If you're interested in planting a Living Legacy Tree, please contact the Parks & Forestry Division Office at 715-839-5039 or email CommunityServices@eauclairewi.gov
