Community Services Department is made up of these Divisions.
Parks/Forestry/Cemetery/Buildings/Grounds
- The division is responsible for maintaining parkland, city sports and athletic facilities, two cemeteries, boulevard trees, trees on city property, and maintaining the city buildings.
- The division creates recreation and learning opportunities and has been recognized as an industry leader at the State and National Levels.
- The division is responsible for the repair and maintenance of over 324 miles of city streets, traffic signs, pavement markings, curb and gutter, catch basins, storm sewers, detention ponds, and culverts.
- The Fleet Division help keeps the city "moving" by providing and maintaining anything with wheels. This includes over 400 fire trucks, transit buses, snow plows, street sweepers, police, utility, maintenance, and parks and forestry vehicles, and maintenance machinery like utility vehicles, snow blowers, and lawn mowers.
- The division offers fixed route bus service and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) complementary paratransit within the cities of Eau Claire and Altoona.
- The Water Treatment facility has 15 operating wells and treat and pump approximately 3.5 billion gallons of water each year. In addition, they perform over 18,000 water quality tests.
- The Wastewater Treatment facility treats 2.76 billion gallons per year. Laboratory testing is performed to meet state and federal requirements and they have over 98% removal efficiencies. In addition, 9 million gallons of bio solids are land applied each year.
