If you find a bat in your home and you know or think the bat may have come in contact with a human and/or a family pet, it is important to try and capture the bat and call the Health Department so it can be submitted for rabies testing.

Private well users can get their water tested for nitrate, bacteria, and more at a discounted price at the Health Department from September 9-19. You don’t need to live in Eau Claire County to have your water tested here! Two “bundles” of tests will be discounted during this timeframe.

There has been a recent increase in pertussis (whooping cough) cases identified in Eau Claire County. Whooping cough is a very contagious respiratory illness that can last for a long time. It can be especially serious for babies younger than 1.
