Hobbs Ice Arena information

In an effort to provide high quality facilities, excellent service, and keep costs as low as possible for our user groups, Hobbs Ice Arena is seeking sponsorship in the form of various types of advertising. Due to the busy schedule and high traffic at the facility, advertising at Hobbs Ice Arena is a great way to get your company’s brand, logo, or information out there in the community. Rates vary depending on the type of advertising. First year is available for just the cost of creating your signage!  Below are examples of the different advertising possibilities available at Hobbs.

Hobbs Ice Arena is a 93,000 square foot multi-purpose ice arena with two NHL size ice sheets, one studio size ice sheet, a multi-purpose club viewing room and two meeting rooms. We are home to the UWEC NCAA mens and womens hockey teams, the Eau Claire/Altoona Stars girls high school hockey team, Eau Claire North boys high school hockey, Eau Claire Memorial boys high school hockey, the Eau Claire Youth Hockey Association (20 teams), the Eau Claire Figure Skating Club (100 skaters), as well as various Eau Claire Parks and Recreation programming. The facility is open year round with 2 sheets of ice in use from April-September and all 3 sheets of ice in use from October-March. We host many college and high school hockey games, 3 major youth hockey tournaments, a major figure skating competition, and many youth hockey games and practices. In addition to hockey and skating, the facility hosts various dry-floor events during the spring and fall of each year. Every year there are over 7,000 hours of building use and an estimated 500,000 people that come through our doors!

Advertising/Sponsorship Opportunities

Digital Signage ($365/year or $1/day)

Hobbs has digital signage displays for directing user groups where to go in the facility and also above our concession stand. For just $365 per year or $1 per day, you can have a half banner ad on our rink schedule display AND a full screen image on the menus above our concession stand. Everyone who uses our facility looks at the rink schedule display and anyone who goes to our concession stand looks at the menu screens. Your advertising will be displayed in 10 second increments for 20 out of every 100 seconds, all day every day.

Mezzanine Glass Stickers ($500/year)

Located in the main game rink, the 2^nd floor mezzanine faces the main bleachers. These bleachers hold 1,000 people and are filled for most UWEC games. The stickers are low-cost to make and are a great way to get your logo out there.

Dasher Board Signage ($1,000/year)

Available in any of our 3 ice rinks, dasher board signage is a higher profile way to advertise your business. Signs are 8 feet long and 33 inches high, attached to the dasher boards around the ice rink. The signs are made of clear lexan plastic with your design behind the plastic to keep it protected from pucks, sticks, and skates. During the hockey season, all 3 rinks have spectators every day. During the college and high school season, the O’Brien Rink has large crowds that can be as high as 1,500 people per game. Discounts are available for putting signage in multiple rinks. 

Scoreboard Signage (Negotiable Rates)

Another high profile advertising option, Hobbs Ice Arena has 3 different scoreboards that are constantly being looked at, whether it is during a hockey game or to see what time of day it is. The main game rink has a 4 sided scoreboard with corner advertising spaces available. The other two rinks have brand new scoreboards with 16 feet of available signage space on each. Put your company’s information on a portion of a scoreboard or make it ‘yours’ by becoming an exclusive sponsor.

In-Ice Advertising (Negotiable Rates)

Could there be a cooler way to advertise your business than to put your logo right in the ice? Hobbs Ice Arena will put your company’s logo right into the ice in one of our rinks. The logo will remain there under the ice and be viewed by anyone skating on the ice or watching what is happening on it. Due to the complex nature of this type of advertising, length of agreement and rates will be negotiated individually for each advertisement.

Zamboni Advertising (Negotiable Rates, Full Body Wrap)

 
We are looking for a single advertiser to place a full body wrap on one of our ice resurfacers. This machine is crucial to our operation and will resurface the ice in all 3 rinks and be used over 1,500 times each year. Every time the Zamboni is on the ice it is being watched by the people in the rink. This is a very exclusive and unique way to advertise your business!
