The purpose of this license is to outline conditions under which city residents in certain residential districts may safely keep and maintain a limited number of allowable poultry (no roosters allowed) to provide eggs for household use; to assure appropriate coops or structures in which to house poultry; and to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the general population of the City of Eau Claire and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (WI DATCP).
