A harmful algae bloom has been noted. It can be especially harmful to children and pets! Don’t swim, touch or swallow the water near the algae. Also avoid boating and fishing near the area. We are continuing to monitor the algae blooms.

The Eau Claire City-County Health Department is seeking assistance in locating a dog that bit a woman, Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021, at approximately 2:40 p.m. The bite occurred on the north side of Birch Street (near the Sunoco gas station)

The final COVID-19 vaccine clinic at UWEC Zorn Arena will be on Wednesday, June 30th from 3pm-7pm. Community vaccine clinics in July are moving to the Health Department and the UWEC Water Street Parking lot, which will be operated as a drive-through and walk-up clinic.

On Friday, June 18th at 4:30 pm, the Health Department will close their COVID-19 Call Center (715-831-7425). The Call Center opened in partnership with UWEC on March 25th, 2020, to respond to the community need for knowledge on a variety of COVID-19 related questions.
