Campground Inspection Reports

As an agent of the Wisconsin Division of Health Services (DHS), the Eau Claire City-County Health Department licenses and inspects campgrounds in Eau Claire County. The Health Department also inspects parks annually to help assure the safety of equipment and overall maintenance and cleanliness of each facility. (Parks are not licensed.)

Drinking water samples are taken from each campground and park twice each summer to be sure the water is safe.

Special Event (temporary) Campgrounds

Temporary campgrounds may be operated at special events so that people attending can stay overnight. Each temporary campground in Eau Claire County requires a license and a plan review by the Health Department. If you're thinking of operating a special event campground, please complete an application and contact the Health Department at 715-839-4718.

Recreational Education (rec-ed) Camps

When people think of rec-ed camps, they generally think of summer camps or youth camps where children are dropped off for a week or more at a time. While rec-ed camps do include these, other types of camps are also included.
