Changes to Absentee Voting
EAU CLAIRE, WI – The following requirements for Absentee Ballots by Mail for the April 7 Election have been changed to:
Voters have until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3rd, to request that their municipal clerk mail an absentee ballot to them.
Voters have until 4 p.m. on Monday, April 13th, to return absentee ballots to their municipal clerk.
**Please Note** An important update to the witness requirement when voting by Absentee Ballot. Late last night (4/3) the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the decision of Judge Conley of the Western District regarding the exception to the absentee witness requirement. Therefore, effective immediately, ALL absentee ballots must have a witness signature to be counted. The deadline to return your absentee ballot is at 4 p.m. on April 13. THANK YOU for your patience as we navigate these trying times together.
