When Did Construction Begin?

Construction began this past summer in July 2017 on the existing bridge over Half Moon Lake and the causeway approach to the bridge. Weeks of steady progress kept the Carson Park Causeway project on track with its anticipated opening date of November 2017.

What were the Preliminary Design Concepts?

Proposed causeway components included multi-use trails along both sides of the causeway, ADA accessible fishing piers, decorative lighting, boulevards, bike lanes, and additional recreational enhancements.

City Engineering staff worked with engineers from Ayres Associates (the firm hired as the design consultant for the project) to incorporate feedback from two open houses into the project's design. This work resulted in the following preliminary design concepts for the project.
